In the Christ Church Center in Omsk we met again with old friends, with brothers, with co-workers in the field of the Lord. We came from many places throughout the Urals, Siberia and Far East to the annual pastors' conference, held April 13 to 16th.
The faces were the same with one exception – Pastor Alexander Scheiermann from Saratov came especially for this meeting in order to share with us a word from the book of Daniel.
Participants in the meeting visited the “Caritas” diaconal center of the Roman Catholic Church and spoke about possibilities for new types of ministry in our own places.
We had an especially warm meeting with the Bishop of the ELCUSFE, Otto Schaude. Despite the fact that his doctors forbid him to travel for health reasons, Bishop Schaude flew to Omsk for the final day of the conference in order to preach at worship and to share with pastors his thoughts about the future of our church and its development.
