Kazan
On May 18th during the worship service Pastor David Gorn was installed as pastor of St. Catherine's Lutheran Church in Kazan. Participating in the installation were ELCER Bishop Dietrich Brauer, Dean Vladimir Provorov (Ulyanovsk), preacher Andrey Dzhamgarov (Saratov), Pastor Andrey Zakharov (Izhevsk) and Walter Waltz, church council member. The service took place in the sanctuary of the church, where reconstruction work was still underway.
Pastor Gorn will provide pastoral leadership to the congregation at a very important time in its life – it has lived without an on-site pastor for many years, but now the with the building restoration process almost complete it will now be particularly important that there is a pastor to help the congregation grow spiritually.
